It's the 1930s again, but worse
A scholar of the period in Germany is showing exactly how Hitler dismantled the most democratic government in Europe (at the time), using legal means and in record time.
This should be a sobering read for anyone who is counting on democratic institutions and guardians to protect us from a similar fate. If anything, we are worse off because there is a playbook to follow and there are tools of disinformation in place that Hitler and his supporters couldn't even dream of.
